I know you thought this was going to end badly, but no! These guys are friends!
There is also a picture of a hamster on a snake, if you are into that kind of thing, and I know you are. Sicko.

Hello. We have unfortunately genetically created hundreds to keep in small boxes for our entertainment but where do we draw the line? The best we can do after the damage WE have done is understand that regardless of how WE manipulate their natural environments, animals/reptiles etc have a keen instinct that unlike humans is not so easily diminished from their existence.

Good grief! This is hilarious! I actually thought the pic was stupid, but the reaction to it is priceless. I just love how people have such respect for the life of a hamster, but none what-so-ever for a snake or even a human being. Snakes don't eat vegetables! Do you suggest we starve them? And then to wish harm on a human? What planet are you from? What is your God?

kinda pathetic how all the people commenting are going on about how it's animal cruelty to feed a snake its dinner. I think it would be more cruel to starve the snake, seeing as they only eat like once a week, whereas the hamster gets to see god. don't you want your tiny hamster to see god? I sure do.

oh so its not ok to put a dwarf hamster in with a snake but its ok to put a rat in?
Seriously to all of you people freaking out over this..... get a life.
Its amazing photography, it is no different than if they took a picture of a rat or a mouse in there.
And FYI to all you ignorant people out there, people do keep rats and mice as pets as well, just as many that keep evil dwarf hamsters, and we don't get bent out of shape over it. Its part of nature,
AND!!! Dwarf hamsters are incredibly aggressive, be worried more for the snake's sake than the hamster, believe me.

Hey screw all the A## holes on here who think snakes are evil and that you are evil for feeding it something! It's NATURE you self-rightous F***S and I hope your dog or cat or whatever else you have ends up getting eaten by a snake and s**t out on your shoe! I have an 8-ft python and can't wait to start feeding it rabbits! Yeah, cute little disgusting furry f***s. Oh, i also have a hamster, rat, guinea pig and bird as pets too. I'm not jackass enough to feed MY pets to my snakes, but I also don't think twice about feeding OTHER rats, hamsters, birds and guinea pigs to them. F***k you and I HATE YOU ALL!!!!! Except for the guy who posted the adorable pic of the snake with the dwarf hamster.

wow those people need a life.
yes I DO NOT agree with it but it is no big issue give a hamster to a snake. As said so before people breed mice and rats to be fed by snakes...snakes all over the world eat small rodents to live it is called NATURE...this prevents over-population of rodent's thus is beneficial for the food chain.
it is apparent that snake more than likely didn't eat that hamster. Any one who knows a little about snakes knows that that snake has probably just fed and therefore will have no desire to attack the hamster....though no doubt it would have if this had occured in the wild.
yours a BIG HAMSTER AND SNAKE LOVER.

Dear Jen
Most things look calm in still photography.
As per the governments lack of concern or involvement in saving the hamsters of America well I would have to agree with you there, but it would be a start of some show of compassion. Are you one of those people who attempt to display some political knowledge at each opportunity presented? You are an idiot! This is not cute. This is sick!!! Feeder Mice are sick. Who are you to litigate what form of life is low enough that you can label it food for some miserable captive serpent. Snakes do not reap any benefits from being in captivity and we learn very little about their behavior. Any one who keeps a snake is wrong. This is true for many animals really. We have unfortunately genetically created hundreds to keep in small boxes for our entertainment but where do we draw the line?????? The best we can do after the damage WE have done is understand that regardless of how WE manipulate their natural environments, animals/reptiles etc have a keen instinct that unlike humans is not so easily diminished from their existence. We need to be respectful and knowledgeable about their behaviors and their impulses. In this example we have a snake. Snakes are carnivorous and feed mostly from other smaller snakes or rodents. A hamster is a rodent and therefore an animal of prey. Do not apply human emotion to these two beings. It is true under some control that separate species can learn to co-exist but it is rare especially at this extreme. The hamster knows instinctively not to move because it is afraid. Animals are survivalist. Whomever preformed this act should be ashamed and Jen once again you are a twit. Both of you need to learn something about RESPECT!!!!!!!! I can only hope there is an after life and you are both “Feeder Mice”!!!!!! eat a weiner!

That's so cute!
And don't worry about the commentors... they're crazy.
It's perfectly legal to feed your hamster to your snake. Heck people raise and sell mice just for food. So he can't get you in any real trouble. And unfortunately, the government doesn't have a lot of time for um... hamsters... so even if it somehow was illegal, there's no way they'd put all that money and effort into saving your hamster.
And anyways I do not believe you were trying to harm the hamster in any way. It looks rather calm with the snake.

This is really sick and dangerous. You are anthropomorphizing the reactions of the hamster to the snake. You have no scientific basis to determine these are friends, as no evidence of inter snake and hamster relationships exists.
This clearly constitutes animal cruelty by placing the hamster under undue and extreme stress. Please be aware that I expect you to remove the image and place a formal apology on your site. Currently I am investigating ways to report this to the authority, and in the first instance will use publicly available whois information pertaining to snakesonstuff.com to trace the originator.
